| hello. i know i haven't posted for a while. i just had to say that i am having the BEST WEEKEND in a very very long time. i don't think i ever stopped smiling since Friday night... hmm.. yeah nope, still smiling :) i am so truly and wholeheartedly thankful for these incredible friends in my life, whom i can fully and naturally be my uncool self around... and still feel somehow... cool :) yeah. it's just like that. ok gtg, hope you are smiling too. bye~

| DID YOU KNOW that the build-a-bear-workshop sends you a FREE animal card (up to $18 value) for your bday?!!!! I DIDN'T! this is so cooooool!!!! (just found it while looking for my cingular bill in the mail) I AM SO EXCITED! can you tell? hehe! in fact, i'm going to go to valley fair right now to get my new stuffed animal! yaaay =))) i know i sound like a little kid right now haha but if you know me, you wouldn't be surprised anyway hahaha so who's 23? *looks around*

| GUESS WHAT?!!
this cupcake finally bought a new cell phone! i repeat, a new cell phone!!! =))) and do you know WHY? because my v60's antenna fell off and disappeared, despite all my efforts to save it *sigh* (does this sound familiar to anyone? haha yup. just like how my old "radio" phone's antenna broke off too... aww i loved that phone... *reminisces* too bad it got made fun of so much though =P)
soOooo... i bet you're just dying to find out which phone i bought... okay maybe not haha, but at least go along with my excitement here please hehehe =)
i bought the razr!!! in sleek black of course ;) i love how i can just slip it in my pocket with none of that lumpy protrusion i'm so used to, and i love the speakerphone, and i love the wireless headset (once i buy one, that is...)
and do you know the very best part of all???

THERE IS NO ANTENNA!!! (no external antenna)
so MAYBE that means i'll keep this phone forever!! hehehe cuz if you know me, i don't like to give up on things and won't buy a new one unless the old one is completely hopeless....

| MY SCARIEST MOMENT IN A LONG LONG TIME >_<
okay so i was driving home on the freeway at night, and suddenly i
notice something moving on my steering wheel and i look closer and see
that... *pauses for suspense* ...it's BIG FAT SPIDER!!!!! not one of
those little puny ones, but one with those big black round bodies. *can
you say SUPER panic attack?!!* and there it was, slowly crawling toward
the left side of the steering wheel, into the darkness, where i
wouldn't be able to see it anymore!! and at this point, i'm ready to
freak out.... but luckily my weak scaredy cat tendencies didn't
completely take over and i was able to make it safely off the freeway,
switching 3 lanes w/o signalling (cuz the spider had disappeared
somewhere on that side of the steering wheel), and all the while,
holding the wheel with only the very tips of two fingers >_<
sigh.. only to freak out more in a parking lot for 15 minutes or so,
desperately trying to find that darn spider... but alas, it was no
where to be found in the dim lighting, and since staying in the parking
lot until sunrise wasn't very practical, i forced myself to tough
it out and drive home... and i made it, cuz here i am typing away at
xanga
ahhh... but why do i STILL feel like something's crawling all over me >_< *pout*

| my mom used to tell me "valerie, if you keep eating like that, when you
grow up, you'll turn into a balloon." only she said it in chinese.. and
through the years (starting soph year in college), i've managed to develop
more self-control and actually began paying attention to that little
voice that says "stop eating! tummy full" but every now and then, more
often than i would like, foods still render me helpless... and just one
tiny bite leaves me longing for more and more until before i know it
the bag is empty and i feel uncomfortably full and to make matters
worse, that little voice says "see, that's what you get for not
listening to me."

some things are meant to be and some things aren't and some things leave
you wondering and questioning until your head is about to explode and
some things still remain unresolved and some things just need a little
more faith and a little more courage and a lot less doubting and
some things you will never know for sure but if you never give them a chance,
some things will never be.
**EDIT [7.30.2005] :: i still agree with what i said about 4 months
ago, but i wanted to add that it's really important to figure out the
reasons behind all those doubts, and whether those reasons are
significant.. because giving some things a chance is often much easier
than dealing with the repercussions.
and don't be afraid to take time to figure things out, because if it
was really meant to be, it will still be there when you're sure.
